This summer Josh and I took his sister and her boyfriend to see the Grand Canyon. It had been quite a few years since I had seen the Grand Canyon and I found it quite enjoyable to visit “the big hole in the ground” as many people like to put it.
Even though we had ventured out to visit the Grand Canyon midweek, the park was quite crowded by the afternoon. Getting into the park costs $50, but if you have a National Parks Pass ($80) you can use that to gain entrance. Once inside the park there are a number of places you can stop to get different views of the canyon below.
Something I though was noteworthy is that unlike many national parks, you can take your dog on some of the trails in the Grand Canyon. This was perfect for us since we were travelling with Aurora!
There is also a glass bridge you can walk over and look down to see below, but we didn’t find it on our visit. Since we had the dog we didn’t do any major trails, but you can walk down to the bottom or even take a donkey ride down. Someday in the future I would like to take a donkey down to the bottom and see what it’s like to be looking up instead of looking down.
All in all everyone on our trip enjoyed the visit and it was a great experience!
