Busan Tower

Continuing on the quest of seeing all the towers in the world, Josh and I visited Busan Tower with some friends visiting Busan. Busan Tower is a relatively small tower in comparison to other towers but I think if you are visiting Busan it is very much worth a visit. To get to the upper observatory of the tower it cost less than ₩10,000 ($10)/person. Not bad since it gives you access to two levels of the observatory deck where you can see great views of Busan and the docks.

We lucked out and happened to visit the tower on a very clear day, letting us take full advantage of the amazing view. The tower itself is quite small and even though we visited on a Saturday it wasn’t crowded at all. There is a small cafe in the observatory deck where you can buy coffee and some snacks.

What I most liked about Busan Tower was its views of the docks…being able to see the water and city from one vantage point was quite nice.

In front of the tower stands a statue of General Lee Sunsin and the Citizens’ Bell Pavilion. There is also a large statue of a dragon that was quite impressive. There are quite a few photographers who want to take a picture of you (for a fee of course), but you can easily take your own pictures.

Since the tower is in a park, you will be able to see many local Koreans enjoying the park if the weather is nice. On the Saturday we went to visit the park was filled with grandpas relaxing and gossiping on the stairs.

Busan Tower was nothing too special but a nice way to enjoy a beautiful view of a beautiful city.

Wow. The Citizens’ Bell looks exactly like the Korean Bell in San Pedro! If you have never seen it, you and Josh will have to let me take you for a really nice drive. 🙂

It’s one of my most favorite places in So Cal. It stands on top of a large hill near the top of a cliff. Best view of the ocean I’ve ever seen!
