So about 2 months ago our boss came into the teacher’s room and told us all that in 2 days a film crew from a news station in Busan would be coming to film a piece on the school that would be broadcast nationwide….!
Not really knowing what this would entail it was business as usual at the school where we work until….the news crew arrived! I sometimes watch the news back home in the States so I had an idea of what the filming process would be like. And, I was completely wrong. There were two…reporters(?!?!?!!?) that came to interview and film at the school and they were both very energetic. To start off with they came somewhat dressed in Korean traditional clothing, the female in a mini hanbok that was beautiful and the male in the hanbok pants and a t-shirt. They shook all of the teachers hands and hugged them (on film) and then came in and joined the classes in our scheduled group activity (a version of Jeopardy called Golden Bell Quiz) all the while dancing around and saying random things (like if one of the girl teachers was single, and that one of them was a dance major in college).
All in all the crew wasn’t completely disruptive of already scheduled school activities. Once they were done filming the interior of the school all the students, school staff and filming crew danced in the lawn in the front of the school.
We were given a copy of the piece that played on the news about 1.5 months later….here are the clips that have Josh and I in it, ENJOY!
