The last part of our company workshop included another trip to the Jinju Lantern Festival, this time in the daylight. It was a great experience because we then were able to see all the details of the lanterns in the light of day.
First while walking into Jinju Castle I managed to get the attention of a character to take some pictures with. Next, I played on some giant drum which was pretty fun. Then Josh and I explored Jinju castle, which was beautifully painted and since we were there on a Wednesday, not crowded at all.
Around the castle on the grounds were huge lanterns displaying various historical Korean scenes. In the light of day it is easier to see the amount of work that goes into making just one of these lanterns, let alone a whole field of them!
After exploring the castle and lanterns, we went back to the shopping stalls and made all the purchases we regretted not picking up the night before. I even managed to find a hangul version of The Little Prince for only $3!
Josh and I also went back to walk on the water bridges in the light of day, which were pretty much empty and gave a great view of the large lanterns on the water.
All in all our workshop trip was amazing!
