Korean Tea House

FINALLY, we did something cultural!!

Our friend found a traditional Korean tea house in Haeundae and we all went on Saturday. It was so beautiful, the tea house was on the 4th floor and had an amazing view of the ocean. The staff were all dressed in traditional Korean dresses and the tea was made in the old ways. Such a fun experience, first one of the ladies who worked there was kind enough to show us how to make proper tea (it’s a process) and then we snacked on some treats and made tea for ourselves…

SO….YOU WANNA KNOW HOW TO MAKE TEA??? WELL HERE’S HOW YOU DO IT

Step 1: Pour hot water into the tea cups (this is to warm up the cup, once the cups are warm you discard this water into a bowl)

Step 2: Pour the hot water into the small teapot that has the tea in it (we chose flower tea)

Step 3: IMMEDIATELY pour the tea into the second empty teapot…if you leave the hot water in the teapot that has the flowers in it for too long then it becomes very bitter (and YES I was the one who learned this the hard way)

Step 4: Pour the tea into the teacups

Step 5: Pass out the teacups to everyone else and then to yourself

Step 6: Be polite and drink the tea using 2 hands

Step 7: Repeat as needed

The place we went was on the top floor, if you look carefully you can see the hangi doors
